Your Early Childhood Care and Education Advisory Council
The Early Childhood Care and Education Advisory Council was created by Act 868 of the 2014 Legislative Session to provide input and guidance to BESE and the Department of Education on matters related to all publicly funded early care and education programs. The Advisory Council must meet a minimum of four times a year in Baton Rouge, and all Bulletins (regulations) and amendments to Bulletins must go before the Council before they go to BESE.
All meetings of the Advisory Council are open to the public, and many will be streamed. For agendas and streaming go to the BESE website at bese.louisiana.gov.
The Early Childhood Care and Education Advisory Council is comprised of 17 voting members and 13 non-voting, ex-officio members as described in Act 868. Members selected to serve on the Advisory Council can be found here.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the Claiborne Building, located at 1201 N. Third Street in Baton Rouge.
