The December White House Summit on Early Education turned the spotlight on the cause of early learning. The President and top administration officials announced more than $226 million in Preschool Development Grants to 18 states and more than $435 million in Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership Grants to 234 "preliminary grantees" in 49 states.
